The performer asks a spectator to simply think of any card. They are then instructed to write down on a piece of paper the card they are thinking of. The paper is crumpled up and placed into their pocket. A playing card is now removed from a regular deck of cards. This card is placed onto the spectators outstretched hand. The performer asks the spectator to name aloud their thought of card. The card is now revealed by the spectator it matches exactly the card that they merely thought of.
